In September 1992, the Duncan Centre Conservatory was opened, which this year will complete 30 years of its existence and to which the founders of the PULSAR group subscribe. It is the only state institution of its specialisation (contemporary dance) in Central Europe. For three decades it has demonstrated high professional and artistic qualities - the vast majority of artists, dancers, teachers and choreographers on the domestic professional scene are former students and graduates of the school. It creates a level of contemporary dance in our country.
During the autumn, PULSAR presented the following programme in Prague and the regions:
18.9., Ponec-the dance venue, The End´s Turnabout by Michal Záhora, former director of Duncan Centre (2013-2017)
19.9. Moving Station in Pilsen, roadshow, Choreograf v ringu 6th round, guests: founder Eva Blažíčková & director Petr Tyc

4.11. City Theater in Děčín, Generation X by Michal Záhora
28.11. Duncan Centre, Being so in Giverny by Lea Švejdová
We premiered a concert by Fahrzavö called Being so in Giverny. The evening was created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Duncan Centre Conservatory, the alma mater of the Pulsar representatives. The artistic team consists of award-winning artists Lea Švejdová (choreography and interpretation, Discovery in Dance Award and Best Interpretation Award), Nora Sopková (costumes, OSCAR2021 nomination), Jana Vörošová (1st place in the Czech Philharmonic Composition Competition), František Fabián and Honza Malík (Personality of the Year and Dance Manager of the Year). Writer Radka Denemarková and dramaturge Tereza Krčálová also contributed to the development of the theme of the premiere.

"To be such a floating water lily, to emerge from the darkness. To have a body like a blooming lotus full of human souls caught in that darkness. To accept the falling petals, to wither, to lose beauty, to grasp the roots and believe in spring again..."
Pulsar association is a platform that realizes dance performances in the field of contemporary dance created on the basis of a clearly chosen dramaturgy. The intention of Pulsar is to artistically process socially engaged themes, to find new dance expressions for them. In addition to this main activity, Pulsar is engaged in the creation of new artistic and artistic-professional formats, through which it explores new artistic possibilities. These formats allow to develop artistic work in close connection with the audience. It also creates facilities for artists invited to create original work and last season worked with young dance makers, providing them with artistic and production facilities to explore their own expression and broaden their social and philosophical outlook.
Pulsar is currently formed by Honza Malík and Tereza Krčálová. Among the major undertakings that innovatively approach the situation on the dance scene and strengthen the progressive development of the dance field are: conferences and performances 30 years of dance The Next Promises, artistic meetings Catch Reality! 1-6, the interdisciplinary conference The Role of the Artist Today, the miniseries Dance Through the Camera's Eye, the experiment dis pla y, the project for ´Innovation and Art´ Absolutely Unacceptable! part I and II, the project for emerging artists Unestablished, the experimental interdisciplinary event Be provoked by dance!, the on.line road.talk series Choreographer in the Ring 1st-6th round, the framework programme for the 30th anniversary of the Duncan Centre).
Pulsar was founded at the turn of 2016/2017 by Honza Malík and Michal Záhora. Originally, the group functioned as a platform for one choreographer. Already then, works were created that dealt with selected social themes in their spiritual, philosophical and social complexity, and a variety of choreographic practices emerged. These included works such as Pulsar, Concert for HER, Anniversary - one hundred years of Czech statehood, Celebration - a dance pilgrimage through the countryside. In 2019, Michal Záhora began to collaborate artistically with Tereza Krčálová. The performances Generation X and The End´s Turnabout (Europa towards Omega Point) were based on dramaturgically developed research.
Pulsar continuously develops cooperation with foreign countries. In addition to presenting works outside the Czech Republic (besides neighbouring countries, Croatia, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, USA, UK), it tries to create new concepts of artistic cooperation with foreign artists.
In 2023, we prepare, we create:
